Can’t Sleep…..

so I decided to give the female version of the changes God has placed in our lives (Male version would be…job done….moving…been great.) Uh-uh….need more words!!!

On June 12, Craig learned that his position at LifeWay was being deleted. This was not so much of a surprise as it was a blessing and has brought on many changes that have been surprisingly joyful!

As many of you know, we are planning on moving back to Colorado. Both of our kids have stated that they are moving out West at some point after finishing college and this Momma wants to live close to her kiddo’s! Also, as some of you may know, Craig and I have been working on starting our own media business. We realized that it would be unwise for us to start a business here, then try to move it in a couple of years. So…..(HUGE faith moment here…) we are taking advantage of the severance package and using that time to sell our house, move to CO, and try to start our business. We feel God strongly pushing us in this direction and I must admit, it has caused us both an occasional sleepless night (such as this one????). So much risk involved. (FYI…I don’t recommend watching “The Pursuit of Happyness” late at night, right after you’ve taken a major leap of faith to start your own business.)

Please pray with us that God will show us each step we are to take. We need our house to sell at a certain price so that our mortgage payments won’t bury us in Colorado. As many of you know, getting a house ready to sell isn’t the easiest thing to do. On one hand it is VERY liberating! I LOVE getting rid of STUFF!!! Weird huh? You should see our living room…space…space…space baby!!! Love it!! The best part is that I’m going to be giving a lot of my stuff away. (Kinda like an indoor yard sale where everything is free including the AIR CONDITIONER!!!!!!!! I’ll keep you posted on the dates. Probably some time early/mid August….did I mention free AIR CONDITIONING????)

We leave July 26 for five action packed days of trying to find a place to live in Castle Rock (Name of the town where we hope to live. It’s located between Colorado Springs and Denver). Ray and Katie Carman are coming with us because Craig and I generally suck at buying houses. In the almost 25 years we’ve been married, we’ve only bought ONE house…the one we are living in now! You should have seen us when we told the agent that we wanted to buy this house. We didn’t ask ANYTHING other than “how much” and “where do we sign”! Man….God really protected us on that one!! So we decided that bringing our agent with us (Ray Carman… of course!) was a very wise move (eeek …bad pun but hey….it’s 4:00 something in the A.M.!!!) Since Katie has never been to Colorado, she is coming along as well. Yippee! She has already found the location of the “Cold Stone Creamery” in Castle Rock!! Way to go Katie! Plus it NEVER hurts to have another female point of view! :0)

As for our business, Kendall Media Group is coming along much faster than I had expected. (Gee…..will we EVER stop limiting God?) We haven’t even left yet and God has already brought us several clients. I have to stop here and give my hubby the praise he so richly deserves. He is just plain GOOD at what he does. His “new media” (media that is used in unexpected ways and places) visions are awesome! I think the thing I like best is that his work ethics are set at such a high standard. He loves his clients so much and does everything he can to make sure they are happy. Love you baby and I’m so very proud of you!

There is much more to tell but I’ll get to that later. Right now, please pray that we find a house in CO that we love and can afford and that our house here in TN sells quickly and with the amount we need. Pray also for the physical strength that Craig and I will need to go through 9 years of living in the same house!! Repairs and sorting will definitely take their toll. (And of COURSE we are doing this during the HOTTEST time of the year!!!!)

Thanks so much for your willingness to pray. We are truly happy to be headed where we think God is directing. While it is often a huge stretch for our faith, we know that, in the end, the wisdom and understanding we will gain from this will far out weigh the stress. God’s Way may be difficult but it is always worth it and then some!

We seriously hope that we can get together with you all before we leave. I just CAN’T leave without seeing you!!!

OH…..can’t forget this…. OF COURSE you can come visit us in Colorado!!! Just not all at one time! :-) We actually have plans to set up a Google Calendar with dates blocked out that are good for us to have visitors! That way you can kinda make reservations at the Kendall Inn! And we have free high speed wireless! :0)
