Colorado……
aaaahhhhhh…….
Craig and I are in Colorado house hunting. This particular house hunting is very different from the ones we’ve experienced over the last 25 years. We literally don’t have any parameters, other than listening to God’s voice in each house we enter to see if He says “this one.”
We’ve looked at about 20 houses and believe that we have found the one He is pointing to. And, as is true with our Gracious Lord, He will have to be the one to make it happen! For the past two weeks, God has been asking me a question over and over…” are you willing to live ANYWHERE and in ANY house I choose for you?” I found myself many times in the same situation as Peter, when Christ kept asking Peter if he loved Him, (John 21:15-17) I kept saying yes but my answer did not satisfy my Lord. He kept asking me a few times every day…”are you willing to live ANYWHERE, in ANY house I choose for you?”. Finally, a couple of days before we left, my lips AND my heart said yes. Believe me or not but God gave me a hug and told me He was proud of me. Just like my earthly Dad used to do. Let me tell you….it felt GREAT!
Here’s where things took a different turn. The house we feel God is directing us to is not what I would have thought He would pick for us. It is bigger than I expected and has the feeling of that favorite grandmothers house you went to as a child, with a modern updated look to it. Craig and I both felt such a sense of loving in that house.
The subdivision the house is in is HUGE! It’s a darling neighborhood that reminds me of the 50’s and 60’s where all the kids in the neighborhood played together all day and the parents would sit out on their front porches, living life with all neighborhood “family”. That’s were Craig and I really feel God comfirming this decision. “Go to my children in that neighbor hood and make them your family. Love them as I love you so that they will let me love them the way I want to love them.”
As I said before, God will have to make things happen in order for us to get this house. Finances, time frames, mortgage acceptance, typical moving stuff and house necessities etc.
I’m not fretfull though… If we’ve heard Him correctly, He make it happen exactly as it should. If we misunderstood, I blindly trust Him to take care of us and have no doubt that we will find the right one at the right time.
Time to go…we’re headed up to the mountains to spend the day in God’s wonderland.
Peace.
