A Packing Poem…

Ok….I KNOW this is corny. But hey….I needed an entertaining outlet to get rid of some stress! Read at your own risk! :)

There once was a lady so fair(ish),

Her house was quite lovely and her head full of hair(ish).

Her husband slept soundly, their dog snoozed close by,

When suddenly a storm struck with a wicked cry.

With words that terrorized her doggies heart, she heard it say,

“pack this…pack that or with it you’ll part!”

She raced to Uhaul, some boxes to buy,

Upon learning the price, proclaimed “I’d rather die!”

Fearing her Lord might take her up on it,

she paid for those boxes hoping that,

unlike the Wind,

she’d not be gone with it.

Homeward she rushed,

And started stuffing those boxes

full of pots and pans, shoes and sockes.

Stress and Worry, those evil twins,

tried over and over to do her in.

When no more could she take it,

she looked to her Lord,

admitting her weakness,

her knees were then floored.

And on that floor she found what she’d lost,

Peace, joy and relief were well worth the cost.

Up she bounded and grabbed some more tape,

She packed, shoved and stuffed at an alarming rate.

The walls of her house are still made of brick,

but her home lies within cardboard, not really so thick.

When the time is right and God says “This one’s for you”

her home in those boxes will know just what to do.

Out it will leap upon floor, counter or wall.

And her house will be her home again, once and for all.

Told you it was corny.. ;-)
