Making a house a home

Gosh, it’s been too long since I’ve blogged! Sorry about that!

To catch you up, Craig and I finally bought a house and it is quickly becoming our home. It’s bigger than what we expected to buy but we are thrilled that it is big enough to hold a bunch of people. The basement isn’t finished yet but we will be working on that hard and heavy in November. We really want to have the Home Theater up and running by Christmas when our kids get here. Lots of work to do it though.

We live in a very interesting neighborhood. We have Hispanic, Asian, African-American, and Caucasion families living within the two houses on either side of us and a couple across the street. Our desire is to get to meet each family and strike up a friendship. It won’t happen quickly. People out here hold back more than in the South.

It’s cool out here right now. The highs are in the 70’s most days with the lows in the lower 40’s at night. We’ve had a couple of days where the highs were only in the 50’s!! We love it.

Craig and I go walking just about every morning. We have a delicious view of the mountains on our walks. It’s so awesome and inspiring. Makes my day better just looking at them.

Lily is doing well. I think she loves being back in a house with carpet. She can get really good traction when we play tug-of-war with her!

I miss the kids like crazy. Some days have been so hard…especially the earlier days. But they are hanging out with each other all the time so that helps me deal with missing them better.

Gotta run..errrr…walk. Craig is waiting. I’ll try to post more later.
It’s curtain day…….iron, iron, iron…..sew, sew, sew…..
