“Reunited And It Feels So Good”
The kids and I picked Craig up at the Nashville airport just after midnight last night. Since today is our 25th Wedding Anniversay, we got to text each other a “happy anniversary” text at 12:03 this morning. How cool is it that 25 years ago, the word “text” meant a portion of some written words on a page in a book!?!? Isn’t technology fun!
Why are we in Nashville? Well, I came in on Nov. 5th to help out Amy Bierman with (as Dick-0 from Next Great American Band put it) “Amy and Denver’s new release” (aka London). As you can imagine, life with a toddler and a newborn can be somewhat stressful! (Imagine that!). To complicate things a bit, Boston got sick the day London turned 1 week old. So when the doc told Amy not to let Boston anywhere near London you can imagine the stress that caused her!!! Poor Amy…she and London had to be prisoners in her bedroom for 4-5 days. Then right when Boston was given a clean bill of health…London got her days and nights mixed up. She would go to sleep somewhere between 4 and 6 a.m.,sleep all day, then wake up around 10:00 at night. The problem was that Boston was getting up at 5:30 or 6:00 a.m.! That meant…no sleep time! Whew! Thankfully, we had Amy’s mom with us at night so we kind of all just tag-teamed our way throughout the next two weeks. Thankfully, little London got her schedule worked out the last night I was there (Thank You Lord!!!!!). It is still going to be a little tough on Amy after the holidays until Denver comes home. I’m sure she would love your prayers and support whenever you think about her and their adorable family.
So I went from baby world into college world. Not so different….up late, eating alot, loud noises etc. But still a great deal of fun. I, however, can never remember what state or city I’m in, what car I’m driving, and which bathroom do I use! Life can be so funny.
All this to say that although I’ve been outside my normal, routine life (yeah…right) I’ve had a great time. Getting to hold London and imprint my love for her on her little heart. Seeing B’man wear a hat for the first time (trust me…REALLY big deal). Eating Itty Bitty with one of my very best friends. Watching Denver on TV while his little boy dotes on every word, note and smile of his “Daddy-da”. Hanging out with my kids in their apartments. Having a cooking marathon with Jes (we cooked and baked 3 meals, two pies, 2 dozen cookies and a batch of fudge from 6:00-10:00 last night). Picking up my MAN at the airport. All of this was life lived with those I love. May have been a little hard/tiring here and there but was worth every minute of it! Real life lived in real time. Very, very fulfilling. Thanks Lord.
