Bucks and Bags
This past Thursday, Craig and I were extra’s on a movie set. Now don’t go Hollywood on me…it was a very small movie that will go straight to DVD. It is actually a project testing lots of technical stuff about trying to get digital footage to have the same quality that film has. Whatever. I’ll leave the techno stuff to Craig. The movie is called Passing Buck. The scene we were in is at LuLu’s Inn. Yeah…thought I was back in Tennessee for a moment. It was a typical looking small town diner off one of the exits not too far from where we live. The food was good…after we finally got some. Craig and I and one other guy that sat at our table didn’t get our food until about an hour after everybody else got theirs. It was a bit better for us though because you had to make sure there was food on your plate for the scene to be shot. Everybody’s food was cold by the time we started shooting except for ours. Everyone did get in at least one shot and they took our names so that we would have some kind of credit on some movie site thingy. (Techno-Craig) (Craig has since found another add needing extra’s for a Food Network show. If we keep this up we won’t have to buy a lot of groceries for awhile!)
On Wednesday, I decided that I wanted to make a new purse for myself. I’ve made tons of purses over the years and have only kept one for myself (actually…I ended up giving that one away not long after I started carrying it!) I found some material at Hobby Lobby that I just fell in love with. The bag took me several hours to make because I’m a firm believer that every part of the purse should be “show” worthy. No raw seams showing. Everything lined etc. I was really pleased with the way the bag turned out. I think I have enough fabric to make one more bag like this one. I’ll probably put it on CraftyGirlz.

This is the lining inside the purse. You can’t see them but there are two pockets sewn into the lining.
A close up of the removable crocheted flower. The pockets inside the purse are lined with the fabric that the flower is sitting on.
